The “8-Step” script attributed to Nikita Khrushchev
The “8-Step” script attributed to Nikita Khrushchev
- The Claim: Social media posts often assert that during a speech to the United Nations General Assembly on September 29, 1959, Khrushchev read off an 8-step script to subvert the United States by feeding it "small doses of socialism" until it woke up as communist.
- The Debate: Historians and extensive fact-checks claim that no such quote or 8-level list exists in any transcript of Khrushchev's speeches.
Whether Khrnshchev mentioned the script on that day or not, we should pay attention to the decline and collapse of many countries of the Western World.
The text attributed to Nikita Khrushchev appears in Saul Alinsky’s 1971 book Rules for Radicals (and has been heavily adapted and misquoted online over the years). The "script" circulating online typically outlines the following 8 areas of control required to create a socialist state:
|
Level |
Focus Area |
The Viral "Script" Description |
|
1 |
Healthcare |
Control healthcare and you control the people. |
|
2 |
Poverty |
Increase the poverty level as high as possible; poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them. |
|
3 |
Debt |
Increase the national debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more poverty. |
|
4 |
Gun Control |
Remove the ability to defend themselves from the government. That way you are able to create a police state. |
|
5 |
Welfare |
Take control of every aspect of their lives (Food, Housing, and Income) so they are entirely dependent on the government. |
|
6 |
Education |
Take control of what people read and listen to — take control of what children learn in school. |
|
7 |
Religion |
Remove faith in God from the government and schools. |
|
8 |
Class Warfare |
Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more discontent and it will be easier to tax the wealthy with the support of the poor. |
